Television host Kris Aquino said it was up to her, and her elder brother, Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, to “continue” what their parents have started.
The youngest of the five children of the late President Corazon Aquino and martyred Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. made the statement after a requiem mass for the former leader at the Manila Cathedral on Wednesday.
“Noy, ikaw at ako ang nasa position para ipagatuloy ang kanilang nasimulan. [you and I are in a position to continue what they’ve started],” the television host said, addressing her brother.
“Noy, you know that in our last conversations with mom, nangako ako sa kanya na [I promised her that] whatever support you need, I will be here for you,” she added.
